DAY 1: CUZCO - MANU BIOSPHERE RESERVE
Morning transfer to our twin-engine turbo-prop for fascinating flight over the jungle to the Boca Manu airstrip. Then, off in a motorized dugout canoe for thrilling 90 minute journey, penetrating the wild lowland rainforest where every bend of the meandering Manu unfolds vistas of unspoiled beauty. Black Caimans, white Caimans, Toucans, Parrots, scores of wild Macaws, and a Jaguar or two may be sighted before arriving to Manu Wildlife Center for Lunch. Afternoon, explore over 30 miles of clear forest trails that surround the lodge for up close views of over twelve species of monkeys including Squirrel Monkeys, Brown Capuchin and White-Fronted Monkeys, and the abundant flora and fauna at your doorstep. Following Dinner, enjoy brief night excursion to explore nearby nocturnal life in the rainforest.   L, D

DAY 2: MANU WILDLIFE CENTER
Rising before dawn enjoy 25 minute boat journey downstream to the only large Parrot and Macaw lick in Manu. From a floating catamaran blind, marvel at exquisite views, take advantage of extraordinary photo oportunities of hundreds of medium-sized and large Parrots arriving first at the lick, followed by large Red and Green Macaws arriving to eat the clay. (Note: clay lick is not active May, June and July). Following Lunch at Manu Wildlife, explore forest trails and prepare to spend late afternoon a top 34 meter canopy platform to enjoy the rainforest canopy and marvellous bird life, Striated Heron, Wattled Jacana, Yellow-Billed Tern, White Winged Swallows, Black-Capped Donaccobius, and Red-Capped Cardinals. Other frequent visitors are the Egret, Green Ibis, Osprey, and Black-Colored Hawk. Return to Manu Wildlife Center for Dinner, or pack a meal for leisurely 60-75 minute hike through the night forest to the Amazon's largest known Tapir clay lick. Climb 17 by 17 foot observation platform perched nearly 20 feet above the lick itself to wait for lumbering Tapirs to arrive. Then, using powerful flashlights observe and photograph them in action.   B, L, D

DAY 3: MANU WILDLIFE CENTER
Early morning departure by boat and short hike for visit to Blanco Oxbow Lake. This beautiful lake is home to large variety of aquatic life and water birds, including the bizarre prehistoric looking Hoatzin and resident Otter. Return to Manu Wildlife Center for Lunch, and then your Guide is available to continue exploring the many trails surrounding the Center. Late afternoon and continuing through Dinner, search for Caiman and other nocturnal life along the riverbank by boat.   B, L, D

DAY 4: MANU BIOSPHERE RESERVE - CUZCO
Depart Manu Wildlife Center near dawn for two-hour motor canoe trip to the Boca Manu airstrip, enjoying early morning wildlife activity along the river, and last chance to spot a Tapir, Capybara, large black or white Caiman, or Jaguar sunning on the river bank. Then, board flight to Cuzco and bid fond farewell to your unique jungle adventure in one of the planet's most intact rainforests, an unspoiled corner on mother Earth.   B

Activities include a visit to Manu's only accessible Macaw Clay lick, a visit to the world's largest Tapir Clay lick, Oxbow Lake with giant Otters and unlimited access to unique spiral staircase to large canopy observation platform, Three Nights Accommodations at the Manu Lodge, Naturalist Guide, Breakfast Daily (3), Lunch Daily (3), and Dinner Daily (3), Transportation overland and by boat, and round-trip Airfare Cuzco - Boca Manu - Cuzco.
