DAY 1: IQUITOS
Arrival in Iquitos, Peru´s gateway to the vast and rich Amazon region. Meet and Greet at the Airport and transfer to Hotel Dorado.

DAY 2: IQUITOS-M/V RIO AMAZONAS
Transfer from hotel to dock to board the M/V Rio Amazonas. After a short briefing, lunch is served. Sail down river from Iquitos passing the city's industrial areas. Enjoy the changing scenery.

DAY 3: CRUISING THE AMAZON
Early morning wake up for first bird watching expedition. Then after breakfast, visit the Yagua Indians and late morning stop at Pevas, oldest Peruvian town on the Amazon. After lunch, a jungle hike through the dense rain forest of the Shishita River area; and at night, cruise up a small tributary.

DAY 4: CRUISING THE AMAZON
Morning jungle walk to see giant Victoria Regia lilies is followed by a piranha fishing expedition in the Ataquari region; and after lunch, visit Caballoccocha, a small missionary village. Evening, search for Amazon caimans by lantern light in the reedy shallows.

DAY 5: CRUISING THE AMAZON
Early morning arrival opposite Leticia and Tabatinga and time to roam about while the ship takes on provisions before departing upriver.

DAY 6: CRUISING THE AMAZON
Morning trip up the Trapoto to fish a small lake and afternoon, stop at the remote leper hospital in San Pablo. Night cruise heads up the Mayaruna River where with engines cut, drift along listening to the many night sounds of the jungle.

DAY 7: CRUISING THE AMAZON
After clearing customs at Pijuayal, ascend the Ampiyacu for a visit to the "Bora" and "Huitoto" Indian villages for a dance demonstration and bartering session. Sailing up river, pink dolphins pop into view at the juncture of the Ampiyacu and Amazon.

DAY 8: IQUITOS - LIMA
Morning arrival in Iquitos to bid adios to crew and shipmates. Transfer to Airport for flight homeward or next destination.
