DAY 1: HOME CITY - GUATEMALA
Depart Home City for Guatemala City. Meet and Greet upon arrival, and Transfer to the Hotel Princess Reforma or similar. Balance of day free to relax, shop and explore on your own.
DAY 2: GUATEMALA CITY
City Tour visiting the colonial and the new in this thriving capital city. Marvel at the National Palace of Culture, a Neoclassic treasure fronting the huge central park, the Metropolitan Cathedral in construction from 1782 to 1868, the Archbishop's Palace dating to colonial times, alongside modern skyscrapers, restaurants, shops and boutiques in the fast paced Zova Viva. (B)
DAY 3: GUATEMALA CITY - ANTIGUA - CHICHICASTENANGO
Morning, leave for Antigua, charming cobblestoned colonial city just one hour away, and the country's first capital. Following lunch, continue for late afternoon arrival in Chichicastenango and overnight at the distinctive Hotel Mayan Inn. (B)
DAY 4: CHICHICASTENANGO - LAKE ATITLAN - GUATEMALA CITY
Market day in "Chichi". Observe religious ceremonies held on steps and inside Church of Santo Tomas over 400 years old. Roam the country's largest Mayan Indian open-air market bargaining for colorful textiles, wood carvings, delicate ceramics and handicrafts of irresistible appeal. After lunch, return via magnificent Lake Atitlan, stopping at lakeside village of Panajachel before continuing to Guatemala City and the Hotel Princess Reforma or similar. (B)
DAY 5: GUATEMALA - HOME CITY
At prescheduled hour, Transfer to Airport for flight home or next destination. (B)
