DAY 1: HOME CITY - SAN JOSE...Meet and Greet upon arrival, and transfer to the Best Western Irazu or similar. Rest of day free to relax poolside, shop and explore the city on your own.
DAY 2: TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK...Morning departure for Tortuguero National Park. Admire rich biodiversity as we pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park. Enjoy delicious Costa Rican breakfast on route. Be special guest in authentic banana processing and packaging plant to learn more of this most important export product (subject to availability). Then board comfortable boat traveling along the Tortuguero Canals in the midst of enchanting exotic paradise. Enjoy refreshing cocktail and delicious lunch upon arrival to Pachira Lodge or similar. Following lunch, visit Museum, the beach, and small picturesque town of Tortuguero. Delightful dinner awaits your return to the lodge. Optional Night Tour: Stroll on beach to admire green turtles nesting (July through September). B/L/D
Day 3: TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK...Day free to explore on your own. Birdwatchers will be up early to roam trails nearby, and following breakfast, perhaps hike up Tortuguero Hill for awe inspiring view of lush jungle below. Following lunch, explore the many private trails, ride a boat through the canals, or relax on the beach. B/L/D
DAY 4: TORTUGUERO - ARENAL...Following breakfast, depart for Arenal stopping on route in Guapiles. Then continue to village of La Fortuna on the slopes of the Arenal Volcano. Afternoon arrival to Jungla & Senderos Los Lagos Hotel or similar. B
Day 5: ARENAL VOLCANO...Day free to explore on your own. Following breakfast, visit Penas Blancas to enjoy sights and sounds of the rainforest, and close up glimpses of monkeys, iguanas, sloths, crocodiles and hundreds of birds. Explore Fortuna Falls, the Canopy or the Cano Negro Wildlife Reserve. Ride horseback along forest trails, fish along the canals, or enjoy the beautiful Butterfly Farm. At night, enjoy spectacular eruptions of lava streams and incandescent rock explosions, an unforgettable natural fireworks display. B
Day 6: ARENAL - MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST...Following breakfast, depart for Monteverde. At an altitude of over 4000 feet above sea level, the tropical woods have a special scent, the air is clean and fresh, the world seems to stand still, and nearby villages and farms add to the charm. Afternoon, enjoy skytrek tour: SkyTrek includes 4544 feet of trails, 11 transversal cables from 130 to 2500 feet long, and 2 observation towers for panoramic views of Guanacaste, San Carlos and Puntarenas lowlands. Day 7: MONTEVERDE - SAN JOSE...Enjoy breakfast and morning at leisure. Afternoon, depart for San Jose and Hotel Best Wester Irazu or similar. B
Day 8: SAN JOSE - HOME CITY...At scheduled hour, transfer to Airport for flight homeward or next destination.
