DAY 1: HOME CITY - SAN JOSE
Depart Home City for San Jose. Meet and Greet upon arrival, and transfer to the Best Western Irazu Hotel & Casino.
DAY 2: POAS VOLCANO - SARCHI
We begin by discovering Costa Rica's many wonders by visiting Poas Volcano, the biggest geyser crater in the world. Marvel at the enormous crater with its deep green lake and hike one of the many trails of this National Park. Then continue to Sarchi, artisan town renowned for its colorful wood work and oxcart factories. (B/L)
DAY 3: SAN JOSE - ARENAL - TABACON HOT SPRINGS
Morning departure to breathtaking Arenal Volcano, active continuously since 1968. Marvel at the frequency and intensity of its eruptions, and explore the lava flows. Then, off to relax in the warm thermal waters of Tabacon Springs. Check-in at the Tabacon Resort Hotel for spectacular views of the volcano by night. (B/D)
DAY 4: CAŅO NEGRO WILDLIFE RESERVE
An early breakfast and it's off to the Caņo Negro Wildlife Reserve, boarding boats to penetrate the tropical rainforest's 1,600 acre lake in the midst of the 18,000 acres of marsh land. The biological diversity includes many species of wildlife, encountered nowhere else. Capuchino, spider and howler monkeys, sloths, garfish, roseate spoonbills, toucans, wildlife, crocodiles, and turtles in the sun are common sight. A box lunch is served and late afternoon, return to Tabacon Resort Hotel. (B/L)
DAY 5: JACO BEACH
Enjoy the scenic drive over the mountains and down to Costa Rica's central pacific coast. Arrive to the Best Western Jaco Beach Resort. Afternoon free to relax poolside or on the beach, enjoy a game of tennis, or explore nearby town on your own. (B)
DAY 6: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK
South of Jaco Beach, Manuel Antonio National Park, famous for its white sandy beaches, plays host to huge iguanas, white faced monkeys, and colorful birdlife. Swim or snorkel, devour luscious tropical fruit on the beach, and later have lunch in Quepos. (B/L)
DAY 7: CARARA BIOLOGICAL RESERVE - SAN JOSE
An early start is rewarded by a walk through the Carara Biological Reserve, with countless species of plants and trees. Spot the endangered scarlet macaw, two types of monkeys, iguanas, coatimundis, dazzling butterflies, and birdlife before returning to the Best Western Irazu Hotel & Casino. (B)
DAY 8: SAN JOSE - HOME CITY At scheduled hour, transfer to Airport for flight homeward or next destination. (B)
