DAY 1: SAN JOSE - TILAJARI
Pick up for transfer to the TILAJARI HOTEL, stopping along the way for phototaking in the town of Zarcero. Later, you'll be driven to the ARENAL VOLCANO which has been erupting continuously since 1968. The frecuency and intensity of its eruptions are truly surprising and at nighttime, the sight of molten lava tumbling down Arenal's slopes is absolutely breathtaking. As a curtain call to today's activities, you'll visit the hot mineral springs of TABACON to to relax in the warm mineral waters of one of the Hot Springs & Restaurant. Later at dinner, you'll be able to view the fireworks of Arenal's nightly eruptions.

DAY 2: CANO NEGRO WILDLIFE RESERVE
An early breakfast and it's off to the CANO NEGRO WILDLIFE RESERVE, boarding boats to penetrate the tropical rain forest's 1,600 acre lake in the midst of 18,000 acres of marsh land. The biological diversity is astounding and many species of wildlife may be encountered nowhere else. Capuchino, spider, and howler monkeys, sloths, garfish, roseate spoonbills, toucans, herons, and crocodiles, and turtles basking in the sun are a common sight, and coming upon the spoor of an elusive jaguar is not unknown.

DAY 3: ARENAL - MONTEVERDE
Today's activities are horseback riding and an enchanting rain forest walk. Later, depart to MONTEVERDE for overnight at the Hotel Belmar or similar.

DAY 4: MONTEVERDE - SAN JOSE This morning immerse yourself in the wonderful world of nature's most beatiful creatures at the Butterfly Farm. Learn about the diverse habitats of the Monarch and famed Blue Morpho, and see thousands of butterflies flying, feedind, mating and laying eggs. Morning walk through the Reserve with Naturalist guide on the lookout for resplendent Quetzal, Wattled Ballbird, Esmerald Touconet, White Faced and Howler Monkeys, and that charming little fellow, the Golden Toad. Evening return to San Jose.
