Day 1 HOME CITY - BOGOTA
Meet and Greet at the Airport upon arrival, and Transfer to the Casa Dann Carlton Hotel http://www.casadann.com.co/ . Balance of day free to shop, stroll and explore this exciting, cosmopolitan city on your own.
Day 2 BOGOTA - CITY TOUR
Guided City Tour of this vibrant, cosmopolitan capital city. Your visit begins at the Plaza de Bolívar for close up look at the impressive the Prime Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the National Capitol, Casa 20 de Julio, Liebano Palace (the Mayor's Office) and the Justice Palace. Then, stroll through the picturesque streets of La Candelaria, the historical district, to enjoy it's colorful colonial architecture and the district's different attractions, such as the Botero Museum, the Colon Theater, the Chorro de Quevedo and the Eje Ambiental. Then it's the world famous Gold Museum, home of the world's largest pre-Hispanic gold work collection, just a short stroll away. Afterwards, a brief stop to learn about the emerald process. Continuing to the northern part of the city, on the way passing by the International Center, the National Park, Lourdes Plaza, Zona G, the Financial District, the 15th Avenue and the Parque de la 93 on the way to the quaint and picturesque sector of Usaquén, located at the northern part of the city before returning to our hotel. Day 3 BOGOTA - COFFEE ZONE
At scheduled time, Transfer to the Airport for flight to Armenia, in the heart of the coffee zone. Meet and Greet upon arrival, and Transfer to the lovely, bamboo colonial style Hacienda Bambusa http://www.haciendabambusa.com/indexing.html . Balance of day free to relax and enjoy the pool and the beautiful grounds. B
Day 4 COFFEE ZONE
Morning departure to the Chapolera Farm, just 20 minutes from Armenia, for an introduction to the history of coffee. Here we have the opportunity to learn first hand the growing and harvesting techniques which makes for the best coffee in the world. Dress up and work alongside the workers to get a true feel for the process as you peel the seeds, toast and grind them in preparation for packaging. Then visit the Butterfly House with more than 25 varieties of these beautiful creatures and the Botanic Garden. Enjoy Lunch before returning to your hotel. B, L
Day 5 COFFEE ZONE
Morning departure to the beautiful Cocora Valley. On our drive, enjoy the verdant, green, lush landscape. Upon arrival, try the delicious Welcome drink called a Canelazo. Continue to the forest where a naturalist guide will instruct us on the local biodiversity of the region. Then continue to Salento, the oldest town in the coffee zone. Admire the colonial architecture and for the adventurous a horseback ride (optional - additional cost) through the countryside. Enjoy Lunch before returning to your hotel. B, L
Day 6 COFFEE ZONE - BOGOTA - HOME CITY
At scheduled time, departure transfer to the Airport for flight to Bogota or next destination. B
