Day 1  HOME CITY - BOGOTA
Meet and Greet upon arrival and Transfer to the Cite Hotel 
http://www.citehotel.com/ .  Balance of day free to stroll, shop and explore this exciting, cosmopolitan capital city on your own.

Day 2 BOGOTA - CITY TOUR - ZIPAQUIRA/SALT CATHEDRAL
Morning visit to the beautifully preserved historical center of the city, La Candelaria.  Plenty of time for photographs at the legendary Plaza de Bolivar, the main square of Bogota. We see up close the Cathedral, the Congressional Palace, the Cardinal's Palace, the colonial Church of El Sagrario, The House of Independence, the Palace of Justice and City Hall all located here.  Then continue to the "must see" Gold Museum where the world's greatest collection of pre-Hispanic Indian gold crafts is displayed. Next, visit the Fernando Botero Museum with paintings and sculptures from this famous, contemporary Colombian artist. (Note: The Gold Museum is closed on Mondays; and the Botero Museum is closed on Tuesdays).  In the afternoon, we drive through the northern residential area of the city through the fertile plateau to the small colonial town of Cajica.  Stop at the main plaza to enjoy Lunch.  Then continue to the town of Zipaquira famous for its underground salt cathedral. Enjoy its extraordinary architecture and design as the Stations of the Cross and three Nave s are eerily illuminated along with other sculptures and cavernous pools all hewn from the salt mine tunnels under the Halite Mountains.   B, L
 
Day 3  BOGOTA - PEREIRA
At scheduled hour, Transfer to Airport for flight to Pereira, in the heart of the coffee growing region.  Meet and Greet upon arrival and Transfer to the Hacienda Sazagua
http://www.sazagua.com/ .   In the afternoon, we visit the Hacienda Venecia for a delicious Lunch and introduction to Colombian coffee.  The farm is surrounded by abundant coffee plantations where we enjoy a colorful description of the culture and cultivation of coffee.  A delicious Lunch and coffee tasting round out this wonderful afternoon.   B, L

Day 4  PEREIRA/SALENTO, COCORA VALLEY & BOTANICAL GARDEN
Today it's a full day excursion, first to the charming, colonial town of Salento, one of the many typical "Paisa" towns in the Coffee region.  Continue to the Cocora National Park where the protected national tree of Colombia, the wax palm, and the tallest palm in the world can be seen.  Then it's off to the Botanical Garden and Butterfly Park to enjoy the abundance of flora and fauna especially the variety of hummingbirds and butterflies which abound.   B, L

Day 5  PEREIRA - CARTAGENA - CITY TOUR
At scheduled hour, Transfer to the Airport for flight to Cartagena, marvelous historic, Spanish colonial, walled city on the Caribbean Sea and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Meet and Greet upon arrival and Transfer to the Hotel Cartagena de Indias 
http://www.hotelcartagenadeindias.com/home.html  . In the afternoon, visit to the most important monuments of the city including the Convent of La Popa built at the beginning of the 17th century. From here we enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the colonail city and Caribbean Sea below.  Then to San Felipe's Fort built also in the 17th century to protect the city from invading marauders and pirates.  Continue to the walled city to stroll its quaint streets and small shops where local artisans display their colorful craft. Visit the Convent of San Pedro Claver named in honor of the Spanish born monk known as the "Apostle of the Blacks".    B

Day 6  CARTAGENA - ROSARIO ISLANDS
Morning transfer to the pier for motorboat ride to the beauiful Islas de Rosario archipelago, located an hour and a half south of the Bay of Cartagena.  Coral reefs, white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters are a perfect setting for your day in the sun.  Plenty of time for swimming, snorkeling, or to just simply soak up the rays before returning to Cartagena.  Lunch included.   B, L

Day 7  CARTAGENA - HOME CITY
At scheduled hour, Transfer to the Airport for flight homeward or to next destination.
